Thing 5
I feel that already I am falling behind with my 23 Things, so was relieved to find that yesterday's Thing was calm and reflective...Last week was a big one - each of the topics included, Twitter, RSS and Storify could  have been a week's thing on their own, at least for those of us who were previously illtwitterate....I did set up a Twitter account a while back but had only sent one tweet, plus another one that had been mysteriously sent for me about participating in a charity event - still haven't worked how that happened, but is the sort of thing that has made me very wary of entering this online game up to now.  Anyway, it has taken me most of the day, not to set up these accounts, but to do anything useful with them.  Jen Gallagher http://teaandscone.wordpress.com/ has some very useful tips about making twitter work for you. Regarding RSS, it takes me several clicks to get to my Reader page - can anyone tell me how to get there directly from the Google chrome homepage?

Thinks
I've browsed through some other blogs, followed a few links, thought about my branding, and one thing puzzles me - how do people find the time to keep up with everything on an ongoing, permanent basis?  Blogging is one thing, and if you add in twitter and maybe LinkedIn plus other forums, it seems to me you could spend an awful lot of time thinking about thinking, and reading about doing, if you see what I mean....

Hello world.  I've set up this blog as I'm interested in the possibilities for social media in the information professions, but I have to overcome an enormous built-in reluctance to put my personal self in a public forum.  Maybe cpd23 will force me to overcome this.
